“If you knew what was happening to your body when you’re stressed out, you would freak out.” Mark Hyman, MD
Most chronic illnesses have stress as one of their core issues. Stress creates leaky gut, which is the root cause of chronic illness, and it wreaks havoc on all our major organs. I had to learn to get my stress under control, or I couldn’t get well.
Chronic stress can affect every physical and psychological system. We all deal with stress as we go through our day. It’s when it accumulates that it becomes an issue. It’s important to release your stress every day so that it doesn’t build up.
Feeling Good: Living Low Toxin in Community and Everyday Life
My first book, It Feels Good to Feel Good, Learn to Eiminate Toxins, Reduce Inflammation and Feel Great Again is very useful to lower your toxic load in your immediate environment, in your home, and your immediate life.
But we don’t live isolated lives. We live in community, and just because I stopped eating the SAD (Standard American Diet) didn’t mean that I didn’t want to spend time with my friends and my family. It didn’t mean that I no longer wanted to go to my Chamber of Commerce meetings, which meet over food. It didn’t mean that I no longer wanted to entertain or to go to parties or dinner at loved one’s homes.

Celebrate Your Daily Wins and Practice Gratitude!
It is so important to celebrate your wins, great and small each day. And every day, it’s important to take notice of everything that is good in your life. I have learned to record my wins from the day before and to relish them for a moment. I then have a daily gratitude ritual. Taking note of what I have accomplished and taking the time to note my many blessings and writing them down sets my day off on a positive proactive note.

1 Habit for Women Action Takers: Life Changing Habits from the Happiest Achieving Women on the Planet
By Steven Samblis & Lynda West with one Chapter by Cheryl Meyer
The cool thing, though, is we can instill in ourselves good Habits. Even better, we can change bad habits (aka unHabits) into good Habits.
In this book, you will find stories from women action takers who are on a mission to make a significant impact on this planet by sharing their Habits and unHabits to help you place one foot in front of the other when you need it most.
No matter how much you wish, hope, pray, desire, want, or manifest, nothing happens without action. You can see an opportunity staring you in the face, but if your Habit is to ignore that opportunity and turn the other way, that opportunity is lost forever.
